1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Motionray FZ LLC, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”), which operates the Zakatee app and this website. By creating an account or using Zakatee, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Zakatee.
2. What Zakatee is
Zakatee is an informational tool. It helps you record your assets, track your lunar year (haul) and nisab, estimate the Zakat due on what you enter, keep a history, record the payments you make, and track your income, expenses, budgets and savings goals.
Zakatee does not connect to banks, does not hold or move money, and does not process payments. Any Zakat you pay is paid by you, outside the app.
3. Not religious or financial advice
Zakatee’s calculation rules follow commonly accepted positions and are reviewed by scholars, and nisab thresholds are maintained by our team. Even so, results are indicative only. Zakatee is not a fatwa and does not replace the advice of a qualified scholar. Scholarly opinions differ and individual circumstances vary — for complex situations, please consult a scholar you trust.
Zakatee is also not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Calculations depend entirely on the information you enter; you are responsible for its accuracy and for your own religious and financial decisions.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Zakatee. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use Zakatee only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account; tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person per account. Do not share your account or create accounts for others without their permission.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Zakatee for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- try to access other users’ data, or our systems, without authorisation;
- interfere with, overload, probe or disrupt the service or its security;
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use automated means to access the service in a way that places unreasonable load on it.
6. Your data
The information you enter remains yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide Zakatee to you, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data at any time — see Delete your account.
7. Our content
The Zakatee app, name, logo, design and content are owned by Motionray FZ LLC or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own, non-commercial purposes in line with these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Zakatee available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or discontinue features. If we decide to shut Zakatee down, we will give reasonable notice where possible.
9. Ending your use
You may stop using Zakatee and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms, or where required by law; where appropriate we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 3, 10, 11 and 12) survive termination.
10. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zakatee is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Motionray FZ LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on calculations or information in Zakatee, including the amount of Zakat you pay or fail to pay. Our total liability for any claim relating to Zakatee is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, if any. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or on this page. Continuing to use Zakatee after changes take effect means you accept them.
